Frequently Asked Questions

Is PRS licensed to shoot on my property?

Yes. PRS holds all required licences under the Queensland Weapons Act 1990 and operates in compliance with the Biosecurity Act 2014. You will need to provide written permission as the landholder before we can operate — our intake form covers this step.

What do I need to prepare before the operation?

Once your booking is accepted, we send you an intake survey that covers property access, livestock locations, hazards, and landholder authorisation. The more detail you can provide, the better we can plan the operation. You'll need to ensure gates are unlocked or provide codes, and notify any relevant neighbours.

Do you operate in wet weather?

Light rain is generally fine — thermal imaging is unaffected by rain and actually performs well in cool, damp conditions. Heavy rain, electrical storms, or extreme wind that compromises safe shooting will result in the operation being postponed. We will communicate any weather-related changes as early as possible.

What happens after I submit an enquiry?

We review your enquiry, check availability for your requested dates, and respond within one business day. If we can service your job, we send you an intake survey to gather more detail about your property. Once the survey is returned, we provide a formal quote. After quote acceptance, the job is scheduled.

What will the report include?

After each operation you receive a written report detailing: total cull by species, GPS locations of activity, estimate of remaining population, notes on property conditions, and recommendations for follow-up. This report is suitable for council biosecurity requirements and grant applications.

Are there minimum booking lengths?

Yes — minimums apply by zone to make the trip viable. Zone A (SE QLD core): 1 night minimum. Zone B (extended region): 2 nights minimum. Zone C (remote): 3 nights minimum. See our Service Areas page for zone definitions.

Do you handle carcasses?

Yes. Carcass management is included in the operation. Depending on property size and terrain, this may mean haul-off, burial, or burning in accordance with biosecurity requirements. We discuss the preferred method during the intake process.

Can I watch the operation?

Landholders are welcome to accompany the operator, subject to safety requirements. All persons accompanying the operation must be briefed on safety protocols and must not handle firearms. Let us know during the intake process if you wish to be present.
